"Open House" LCM After School Program Host Open House to Existing and Potential Families

The After School Program is hosting an Open House to introduce our program to the community at large and exhibit our new academic/development components that we are offering to existing families who have students registered. "Let's Move" Exploring Physics by Learning Motion and Resistance - STEM Project

After a brief lesson on how motion and resistance works, students took to the production room to become engineers. The students designed an inclined structure to apply and demonstrate the laws of physics. Students learned how gravity, force and resistance plays apart in the movement of objects.

Water Diversion Project - STEM

After School participants watched a 5 minute concept video today on water diversion before diving into a fun learning experience. The participants learned how diverting water away/around structures is an important element in engineering. We made the kids use raw material they found around the facility to enhance the critical thinking aspect of it. The participants had to successfully divert the water around the structure's retaining wall to avoid flooding, leaks or collapse.

Retired NASA Program Manager Presents Aerospace - STEM Exhibit

LCM's very own retired NASA engineer, Herman Hines, exhibits his space craft model today. This exhibits included a brief presentation on various aspects of space and how they all fit together.

Boy/Girls Weekly Mentoring Sessions Implemented Today!

NASA Goddard Flight Space Center

Our trip to NASA Goddard Flight Space Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. The students enjoyed playing with the exhibits, experiencing the type of technology is used in space and driving our teachers crazy. SO MUCH FUN!
